It’s been a crazy time since we started Mama Feelsgood , starting a business like this from scratch has been a real experience and i have learnt a lot over the couple of years we have been trading. One of which has been you never really know how somethings gonna go until you get out there and try it, and this goes for what you guys want from nursing & maternity clothes.

So we have made the decision to stop manufacturing our maternity Tees , this has been a really hard decision because honestly our maternity tees are SO lush, and like everything we make we have never gone for the cheap option, we’ve  used really thick lovely cotton which won;t go see through when you pull it over your humungous baby bump, they are longer in length and keep your covered even when you are at your biggest, plus they have bloomin funky prints, not these crappy “baby on board” slogans (sorry my personal opinion there, i can’t stand them!).

But our support for our breastfeeding range has been phenomenal , so it’s this we are putting our focus into now solely, as a small independent retail company we have to compete with the bigger brands and this on our tinnnyyy budget is just not possible so we are hoping that our quality product will out shine them . Seriously we use really lovely fabrics that other companies wouldn’t use because they are expensive to manufacture and they go for the cheaper option (this is a massive issue i have, you get a item of clothing and it;s so thin you can see through it or it wouldn’t keep a knat warm!) .

We don’t buy our shirts already made from other companies and just change the tag ( some companies do this) everything has been made by us , to our specifications and we use quality goods and quality manufacturers.

SO rant over, i’m just a bit gutted we have to put our maternity clothes on hold for now, but when we get a bigger company we will bring them back so no worries they are just on a brief holiday and in the words of Arnie”  i”ll be back! “

All our maternity shirts are available to buy from our Ebay Clearance store

Light Grey Ray Gun nursing T-shirt

This funky nursing T-shirt was inspired from the 1950′s style B movies, have you ever seen one? They make me crack up, ok so it was the 1950′s and the special affects weren’t up to much but the story lines :)

The attack of the 50ft woman is genius , can you imagine that a 50ft woman, yeah girl power!!

I love the font types and the retro feel of the 1950′s, there was some really cool things going down around that time, although i do associate a lot of it with the American 1950′s ie Happy Days and milkshakes etc. I was lucky enough to go around california in my 20′s and went into a Rubys diner in Palm Springs (they have the train tracks running around the top of the walls in there, it;s well cool) and that is very 1950′s inspired diner. I think we should have more things like that here in the UK, would make things a lot more cheerful i think.

So back to our Ray Gun nursing tee , i got the idea for the graphic print from B movies which got me thinking about a really lush Foo fighters poster i have framed on my wall in my hall, it’s from one of their tours in 1997

i gotta laugh because my daughter says i look like the lady in the picture, if you point to it and says who’s this she says mum , all i can say is i haven’t trained her to say this but blimey i wish it were true!! ha ha

So there is the inspiration for our Ray gun nursing  shirts. They are quite a complicated design , and look even better close up, like i said the Mama Feelsgood font is very 1950′s comic book book style.

Currently we have 3 of out Ray guns tee on sale which can be found in our nursing sale section on our website , our long sleeve pink nursing top .

It’s fun to be funky & different :)

    Have a fabulous weekend, Liz

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie is pregnant again, sources in the US have claimed today. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are preparing for the arrival of their seventh child, sources have told Star magazine. According to insiders Jolie is two months pregnant and has just told partner Brad the good news. “She’s thrilled. She said she knew she was pregnant before the test confirmed it. But she kept the news from Brad, only telling him when he returned from a trip to New Orleans at the end of March,” the source claims before suggesting things have been strained between the couple recently. “They’d been trying for another baby for months, but it was still a total shock when she found out. Brad and Angie have been fighting so much lately, it just didn’t seem possible…

Well if Angeline wants to do some more breastfeeding we can arrange a lovley nursing tops for her :)

OK so alot of questions i get from people is what exactly is a breastfeeding top or nursing top ? What can it do for me?

Basically you have had a baby and you want to breastfeed your baby, and as you will know babies want to be fed alot, all times of the day and when they want a feed they WANT IT NOW!!!  Now combine this with your needs as a mother, you’re body has just gone through 1 of it’s biggest changes it probably ever will, and it’s still changing to meet the demands of your baby.

Getting use to the idea of getting your bangers out (apologies i watch far too much Gok ) all the time is a shocking idea, and pretty alien to us, add this to the fact you don’t really want to flash your new post baby muffin top to the world and the actual act of breastfeeding can be abit off putting for some ladies especially in public.

So our breastfeeding tops here at Mama Feelsgood are designed in a special way so to enable you to breastfeed whilst keeping your tummy covered and providing you with discretion whilst you feed your child. Each breastfeeding shirt is designed like 2 shirts in 1 , the under layer provides the cover for your tummy and has double side openings on each side which enable you to pull to 1 side and feed your baby. The top layer looks like a regular shirt, and when the top shirt is down you can’t see the nursing openings at all.

Our Ray Gun breastfeeding shirt .

Here at Mama Feelsgood we are really trying to put the funk back into nursing wear, and whilst we appreicate you’ve had a baby you really don’t have to change the way you dress just because you have chosen to breastfeed your baby.

We will be expanding our range of breastfeeding clothing soon, so we can provide mothers with a more trendy, up to date maternity & breastfeeding wardobe.

Be a funky mum, wear breastfeeding tops from www.mamafeelsgood.com

This is episode 2 of series 1 and explores teenage pregnancies and the effects it has on the NHS and the teenagers themselves.

It’s on at 9pm tonight so am going to watch it, being a mother myself (at the age of 30) i can’t imagine what it must be like to be a teenager and having a baby. Alot of responsibility at a young age, some might shine whilst others i can imagine must find it very tough.

Here’s the blur from Channle 4 website about tonight show:

This episode explores the cost of teenage mothers to an already stretched health service. With 46,000 pregnant teens registered in the UK last year – the highest number in Europe – and many young people failing to take responsibility for their own health, can the NHS afford to maintain its founding principle of free healthcare at the point of delivery?

Part of a three-part series examining the relationship between teenagers and the NHS, this programme visits City Hospital in Birmingham where 10 new pregnant teenage girls register at the maternity unit each week. Is the NHS being asked to pick up the pieces of an increasingly self-destructive society?

This seems to be one pregnancy rumour that won’t go away. In the past 2 months or so there have been various photographs of Kate with apparetnly “a baby bump”, to be honest i can’t say i saw much of a baby bump; maybe she just had a large meal or something.

But this recent picture click here to see of when Kate opened the New York TopShop store on Thursday had people chatting again. Some people have said it is a defined bump but i’m not sure. I know Kate Moss have every right to keep her personal life just that but it can’t be nice to under sucj speculation all the time. I mean maybe she just has gas or somthing!

When asked about the pregnancy rumours Kate moss was quoted as saying”I’ve just started wearing bras. It’s a miracle. Great timing for my lingerie collection. I am a woman now. It’s true. Honestly, I’ve never worn a bra in my life. Ever! It’s so awful, even my friends are phoning me up and saying, ‘Are you pregnant? And I’m like ‘No! I just put on a couple of pounds and they went in the right place.”

Well only time will tell, thats if anyone is interested anyway???

This is an old quote from when she had her twins Phinneaus and Hazel (think they are 5 years old now) but i just thought it was brilliant.

About pregnancy Julia said”‘My stomach was enormous and the bigger it got the smaller my ass looked so I kind of enjoyed it. I felt great.’

I think thats a pretty cool attitude to have towards pregnancy, there’s not alot your can do to control your body whilst pregnant, it’s just gotta do what it’s gotta do might as well try and enjoy it (ok ok i know swollen ankles, bad back and varicose veins are hard to enjoy but maybe feeling the baby move is a more enjoyable feeling?).

It is amazing the amount of pressure “normal” ladies are coming under whilst pregnant alot of it due to celebreties and the un natural return to pre pregnancy figure they are setting. Alot of women will never get their pre pregnancy shape back and even if you do your tummy won’t be the same again.

So you’ve got a name in mind for your little baby but want to know how popular it is? The UK national statistics website gradually roll out which were the tops names in the UK for boys & girls, they are currently up to 2007.

Check their website out here for girls names

    Here for Boys names

Seems in 2007 the top 3 names for girls were: Grace, Ruby , Olivia

And for boys: Jack , Thomas, Oliver

Jack has been top slot for over 3 years.

Sometimes it’s really hard to know what your baby will be called until you see it. My husband and i were changing our mind about the middle name if it was going to be a boy when i was in labour, some might say it was good i had a girl!
