Mama Feels Good

There are some seriously good applications out there for making photos more funky and i have caught a bit of a bug where i’m changing up lots of photos into ones which look vintage. Matt hates them, i don’t know why i think they look really cool , but i’ve done some of our nursing tops so check them out and let me know what you think:

It’s really nice to be able to change pictures around, i’ve taken loads of pictures of my girls and they look like they have been taken back in the 1970′s (actually i looked at one and thought it looked like me, i am a 70′s baby!).

I was thinking of having some as product shots on the website but  they don’t really reflect the true colours of the nursing tops so i’m just gonna keep them here to my blog for now…

So over the next couple of weeks we will be expanding our range of breastfeeding clothing and adding to our nursing T-shirt designs. First up is our Tattoo Owl long sleeve breastfeeding top in light grey .

It’s really cool that all our breastfeeding graphic Tees are being printed here in Bristol, when i drop our shirts off there to be printed i always meet someone new and cool to talk to as the print shop is in a busy part of Bristol city , in a kinda arty area so everyone is super friendly which is really nice. Working on your own which i do is great but i do get lonely! I do have a tendency to talk a lot sometimes and i’ve noticed that when customers ring up with a query i tend to keep them chatting for a bit….. although i gotta say you guys are really nice and do tend to like to have a chat too!

Matt and I are putting plans together to improve Mama Feelsgood, and move it on a bit, both in product range and taking it to a wider audience. We know our breastfeeding clothes are really lush and loads more people should know about them so we are going to do something about it. I had an important meeting this week which really opened my eyes to things, and as the song goes i can see clearly know the rain has gone!!

So the job begins of clearing out our old stock room to move to the new premises , there are loads of boxes all of which i thought were pretty organized hahaarrr how wrong i can be.

We found quite a few old nursing tops from when we first started Mama Feelsgood, it might not be that long ago ( we are celebrating our 2nd anniversary in little over a months time) but wow how things have come on since then with the design of our breastfeeding wear. They differ from our current nursing T-shirts in a few ways :  A= the material , our current nursing tops have a little bit of spandex in the layers just to help stretch & retain their shape. B= our old breatsfeding tops were too short, they needed to be longer , so now our nursing shirt are long enough to hang outside your jeans or you can tuck the bottom layer in for extra cozyness!

We also found our maternity shirts prototype, these were funny, we did think about combining the two of having a maternity top that would convert into a nursing top, but we found that if you had been wearing the shirt as a maternity top for a few months by the time you come to breast feed your baby and if you breast feed over a period of  months the shirt has just been stretched too much by your pregnancy and won’t go back into shape enough so is unflattering to your shape. Also lots of mums ( and i must include myself in this) don’t like to wear maternity clothes after you’ve had your babies. I know i am not spekaing for everyone here but i really didn’t enjoy either of my pregnancies , it’s truly amazing to have a new growing etc an  of course i loved my babies to bits but the high blood pressure, back ache, sickness, lack of sleep etc i did not enjoy, some ladies bloom when pregnant i think i wilted!! But hey i have 2  fantastic children and i wouldn’t have it any other way. But clothes wise i found it lovely to have new nursing clothes to wear that were totally separate from my old maternity ones.

SO we have many boxes of nursing tops to move, it’s going to take some time and we are also looking to take delivery of some new style tops and nursing dresses too later this year which will need lots of room to store, all good times but blimey i wish i had bigger muscles!!! Good job Matt has i predict he will need them !!

OK so it;s not even Spring yet (only a few weeks away until it is officially spring) but there is a change in the weather here in the UK. The evenings are getting lighter for longer and the mornings lighter too, i love this time of year, and before you know it summer will be here yeah!!!

We like to think we are a company whom listens to our customers So we thought we would ask you what would you like to see from a nursing top?

We are in the process of designing our next range of nursing tops and wanted to know what can we make for you that you would really want? We’re not talking what would “do” or “yeah that would get me by” what do you wanna wear that will make you look and feelgood when breastfeeding your baby?

OK so we know clothes that are made to breast feed your baby in have to be practical, we’re not talking nursing tops with a halter necks or nipple tassles !!! ha ha although judging by some of the emails we get some ladies might like that ha ha. The fabric has to wash well as we know you will be getting a lot of use of of the tops so delicate fabrics such as silk etc aren’t the ideal type, but in general terms of style what do you guys want?

If we start talking nursing openings – the double layer top where you pull up the use the double side openings, do you prefer these or do you o prefer the pull down style nursing shirt? ie a deep v neck and you can pull down the shirt to feed your baby. To be honest i always found these nursing tops a little more exposing than the pull up double layer type, but it;s not all about me…it;s about you

I love halloween so much and it makes it even better when you have children to share it with. I’m going out to get my pumpkins this afternoon and and gonna take great joy in carving them, although what i’m gonna do with the inside is another thing. My imagination is pretty poor when it comes to cooking, so maybe the birds in my area are gonna have a little treat ha ha.

Blimey it’s getting colder every morning, so you might well be looking in your wardrobes and dragging out your old winter clothes from last year (probably your old pre-pregnancy clothes).

Well what i am getting at is we have just got in store our new collection of graphic print nursing tees in, and yes there are some long sleeve nursing shirts in there  

So no more cold backs or tummys when you breastfeed, because our funky designed double layer breastfeeding tops keep you covered, all you do is life the top layer up and then whichever side you want to breastfeed from you pull the under layer to one side , pop out your boobie and away you go.

It’s going to be such a blast , it’s our photoshoot for our new nursing tops on monday. Please let it be dry as i really wanna get some shots outside, although the weather here in Bristol at the moment has been completely different everyday so far! Sheri and jess are our models again and it’s so much fun, i’ve learnt the art of chilling out a bit now, our first ever photoshoot we did i was so up tight and moody ha ha. You watch Americas next top model and think it looks easy but i can tell you it really isn’t!! To be a good model you’ve just got to enjoy what you do and have the patience of a saint!

Of course it totally helps that Laura our photographer is a total dream to work with, she has SUCH a good imagination , some of the poses she think up are wicked.

Because i myself an pregnant with my 2nd child hopefully next year when it’s born (i don’t know the sex yet so have to still call it an it!) there should be some better “action shots” of how our breastfeeding tops work. I know sometimes it kinda difficult to get your head around how our nursing tops actually work so this should help alot.

SO by next wednesday the new breastfeeding tops will be available to buy on our website.
