Filed under: Breastfeeding Tops; Tagged as: breastfeeding clothes, feeding t-shirt, funky nursing top, nursing clothes, owl breastfeeding topNo CommentsOk perhaps my rhyming isn’t very good ha ha.
In the spirt if autumn and things turning a bit colder now (although i have to say for November things really aren’t that cold at all) though it would introduce our Owl breastfeeding T-shirt .
we’ve changed the design up a little from our previous printing of this nursing shirt and inversed the printing of it. We think it totally rocks, we think the print makes it clearer to see the little skulls on the design. We’ve had loads of comments about this nursing shirt and people really get good comments from friends etc when they wear it which it totally cool.
Here’s the detailed description from our website about this breastfeeding tee.
Twit twoo look at you mama.
Our OWL breastfeeding T-shirt is cute but with a harder edge, this owl isn’t all eyelashes look harder and you will see !
We pride oursleves on proving funky, fresh breastfeeding tops which are super good quality too. Don’t stop being yourself because you’ve become a mum, show your child you have style!
Our breastfeeding tees are:
- 100% jersey cotton Top shirt
- 95% Cotton 5% Spandex under shirt
- To be worn after pregnancy
- machine washable
- sizes 8 – 18
All our breastfeeding T-Shirts work on the same nursing design:
It is 2 shirts in 1. The top t-shirt is just like a regular tee, and below is a hidden under vest with nursing openings on both sides. When you want to feed your baby you simply lift the top tee and move the undervest slightly to use the nursing openings. Keeps your tummy covered and helps hide you chest! As shown in additional pictures below.

New nursing tops are here – at last!!!
Filed under: Breastfeeding Tops; Tagged as: black nursing tops, breastfeeding clothes, breastfeeding tops, maternity clothes, Maternity tops, nursing tops, nusring clothes, post baby clothesNo CommentsThe last couple of days here have been super busy to say the least, what with the photo shoot and then the writing of the product pages for each of the new nursing tops it’s been crazy.
I’ve been so busy working that last night i couldn’t stay up long enough to watch True Blood on channel 4 !! ha ha, hey i love that programme, very raunchy and a the language is very potty mouth in parts but i’m addicted already! Anyone else watch it?
Well back to the nursing tops – it is such a proud moment to see months and months worth of work come together and finally see the new collection on the website. This breastfeeding top collection has defiantly been worth it , and we like to think we have brought some more variation in our choice of nursing tops. SOme of the graphic designs on the nursing T-shirts have special meaning for me, 1 in particular “The music SOunds Better With you ” nursing top is in dedication to one of my very good friends Kerri who sadly passed away 2 years ago. She will never be forgotten and always much loved.

Breastfeeding tops which offer you something different
Filed under: Breastfeeding Tops; Tagged as: breastfeeding clothes, breastfeeding tops, funky nursing tops, nursing clothes, nursing tops, trendy breastfeeding tops1 CommentMama Feelsgood nursing tops offer breastfeeding ladies funky, original nursing tops which are super functional, descrete and are really good quality at affordable prices.
Hey we are NOT saying you have to have one of our nursing shirts to breastfeed your baby, but like a lot of things in life they make life so much easier. Going out in public can be a real confidence issue with some ladies when they know that their baby is going to need a feed whilst out. Hey when i had my daughter i kept making feeble excuses as to why i couldn’t pop out to the mall with my friends for a cuppa tea , reality was i didn’t want to have to face the issue of getting my boobies out in public let alone my gigantic jelly belly (and i’m not a size 8 pretending to know how bigger women feel i am a good size 18!) stretch marks and all; when the real issue was i was uncomfortable with feeding in public. A lot of women are, and i truly wished i wasn’t , it’s one of the most natural things in the world, but i couldn’t help the way i feel. Now i am 14 weeks pregnant with my second baby and i really do feel like things have changed. Lets face it i have a big wardrobe of nursing shirts to choose from! And they will help me to gain confidence and nbot be a hermit!!
OK so some people have asked who would want to wear their breastfeeding shirts after they stopped feeding?
Our shirts we like to think are really something different, for a start they don’t look like regular nursing shirts, they aren’t frumpy, and they offer originality and are really well made, so it’s not like you want to get out of them as fast as you can, we’d like to think you actually like them! A lot of our customers cut the inside nursing layer out and then wear then as regular shirts, whilst some like the fact that the inner layer kinda holds you in a little. Breastfeeding isn’t for everyone, so if you want to try if for a few months/ weeks/ days and find you don’t get on with it etc then you can still wear your shirt, it’s not like it’s so obvious it’s for breastfeeding that you couldn’t wear it when you weren’t!

Sneek peak at our new breastfeeding graphic tees
Filed under: Breastfeeding Tops; Tagged as: breastfeeding clothes, breastfeeding tops, feeding clthing, feeding tops, nursing clothes, nursing tops, Rock Mama Nursing top1 CommentWe are well excited here at Feelsgood towers, our new shirts should be with us within the next week (everything takes So long!), so we will have plenty of stock in all designs which is good news because we are so sorry about you having to wait for shirts.
We’ve been trying to make our stocks of nursing tops hang out for the last couple of weeks but they just haven’t made it, which is good for us because they are selling but it sucks for you guys who need them now!! Yeah we know what it’s like when you are pregnant or breastfeeding and sometimes there just is no time to wait for things!!
So here is a little sneeky peak of one of our new graphic print nursing tops. We haven’t had our photo shoot yet so this is just a mock picture but hey it totally rocks.

This is called Rock Mama and will be available on dark grey short sleeve and black long sleeve. It reminds me of a Guns n roses style shirt. Hey rock out trendy mama ha ha!!
As soon as they arrive and we have done the photoshoot they will be on the site. I wasn’t sure about taking pre orders for the shirt ( we have had a lot of enquiries) just because it can get quite confusing when there are a lot of different orders to remember. But if you are really keen drop us an email and we can see what we can do
Have a cool weekend whatever you are doing – Liz

Bottle Feeding your baby – lacking support?
Filed under: Breastfeeding Tops; Tagged as: bottle feeding babies, breast fed babies, breastfeeding clothes, nuring topsNo CommentsMidwives may not be providing enough information to mothers who bottle-feed to enable them to do so confidently and hygienically, research has suggested.
This is an article featured in Todays BBC news website.
Have a read:
Midwives may not be providing enough information to mothers who bottle-feed to enable them to do so confidently and hygienically, research has suggested.
A conference on parenting organised by Kent University will hear there is some confusion among midwives about what they are allowed to say about formula.
The study was funded by the industry body for formula milk manufacturers and analysed by a midwifery researcher.
Three-quarters of mothers have used formula by six weeks, NHS data shows.
The poll of 110 midwives, conducted by healthcare research company GfK, found nearly two-thirds said they did not “normally” provide information on formula milk and how to make up feeds – whether in the form of leaflets, verbal advice, or a demonstration.
Even more did not know the differences between types – as opposed to brands – of artificial milks.
An advisor from the Royal College of Midwives said the funding source of the study was very unfortunate, and that professionals were already aware of some of these issues.
A major review published this month found many mothers complained they lacked the information to make empowered decisions about feeding, noting mistakes in bottle-feeding which could cause gastroenteritis and even obesity were frequently made.
Showing how
Most midwives polled did think the information provided to bottle-feeding mothers was at the very least adequate, even if they consistently rated support for them as inferior to those who were breastfeeding.

It shocks me when everyone knows the statistics about how many mothers end up bottle-feeding that nothing is done to make sure they are properly equipped to do so
Clare Byam-Cook
Breastfeeding expertGuidelines from Unicef’s Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI), which many hospitals are trying to follow, discourage the active dissemination of information about formula milk but do say bottle-feeding mothers should be supported once a decision is made.
But midwifery researcher Sue Battersby – who reviewed the poll’s findings – said her in-depth interviews with midwives found confusion about what they may say about formula because they feared it may conflict with policies promoting breastfeeding.
Despite recommendations from both the BFI and the National Institute for Clinical Excellence urging all women who bottle-feed be given a demonstration before leaving hospital, she reported this was far from standard practice, and that such displays had all but died out in ante-natal classes.
She added she was particularly surprised by the lack of awareness between types of formula milks.
First stage milks tend to be whey-based, and as such are closer to human milk – while second stage milks are casein-based. This is closer to dairy fat, and takes longer for the baby to digest
It is often marketed for “hungrier babies” as it tends to keep them fuller for longer.
“This is really important information that mothers shouldn’t be left to their own devices to find out.
“The suggestion from some midwives that it was the role of the formula companies to inform women I found really disturbing – mothers need impartial not commercially-oriented advice,” Ms Battersby said.
Comparing constituents
Breastfeeding expert Clare Byam-Cook said she wrote a book on bottle-feeding after experiencing first-hand the lack of knowledge among mothers.

Our standards do not, and never have, prevented health professionals from implementing best practice for mothers who choose to bottle-feed, in fact the opposite is the case
Carmel Duffy
Baby Friendly Initiative“These findings come as no surprise. It shocks me when everyone knows the statistics about how many mothers end up bottle-feeding that nothing is done to make sure they are properly equipped to do so,” she said. “We need to see this for the mess that it is.
“Many women want to breastfeed, but it is a myth that every mother has enough milk to do so. At the same time some babies simply cannot suck from the nipple, but will take a bottle.
“It’s all very well to say they can go away and read the tin if they want to bottle-feed, but many mothers find themselves in a complete panic at three in the morning, scared stiff with a new baby in their arms. There needs to be good, clear advice on sterilisation, making up feeds and how much to give.”
Unicef’s UK Baby Friendly Initiative said the small, industry-funded study should be approached with caution, but that it was aware care for both breast and bottle-feeding mothers remained variable.
Carmel Duffy, deputy director, said: “Our standards do not, and never have, prevented health professionals from implementing best practice for mothers who choose to bottle-feed, in fact the opposite is the case.
“During the post-natal period we do strongly recommend that bottle feeding mothers are shown how to prepare a feed correctly before being discharged from hospital.
“In the community, staff are encouraged to have a full discussion with bottle-feeding mothers to ensure full understanding of how to bottle-feed correctly and Unicef UK provide an audit tool to help with this process.
“There is no restriction on any information as long as it is accurate and free from advertising.”
Nation of bottle-feeders
Next month, the Royal College of Midwives is to publish a downloadable booklet for midwives and mothers which will provide a section on the differences between all the brands and types of milk available and what the science is – if any – behind certain ingredients.
It will also include detailed information on sterilisation, preparing and storing feeds – taking into account new guidelines – and importantly how much to feed a baby based on weight, not just age.
Janet Fyle, professional policy advisor of the Royal College of Midwives, said: “There is a huge amount of information and misinformation out there and some midwives are confused. We hope this publication will help them answer the questions mothers think are most important.
“But I really don’t believe bottle-feeders are being neglected for those who breastfeed. It’s not in anyone’s interests to – at the end of the day we are a bottle-feeding society.”
All i can say on the matter is when i had my daughter nearly 5 years ago information was very lacking about either, bottle or breastfeeding.

Isle of Man to host World Walk for Breastfeeding
Published Date:
25 July 2009THE Isle of Man is to host its first World Walk for Breastfeeding to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week.Thousands of breastfeeding families, their supporters, and health care providers around the world will participate in the annual La Leche League International World Walk for Breastfeeding being held in 16 countries around the world.World Breastfeeding week
Aeding Week, proclaimed by the World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) in conjunction with the World Health Organization and UNICEF, will take place between August 1 and 7.
The Isle of Man World Walk for Breastfeeding will take place on Friday, July 31, on Douglas Promenades starting opposite the Jaks pub at 10.30am.
Participants will walk to the Manx Electric Railway and back.
Walkers will raise funds to assist breastfeeding education programmes worldwide and make communities aware of the unique role of breastfeeding in improving world health and preserving the environment. The Island’s new LLL group was set up in May for expectant mothers to ask questions, voice concerns and share the benefits of breastfeeding.
It offers women telephone counselling, email support, leaflets, access to a medical advisory panel and a library.
The group’s leader Katie Davies said: ‘All the family are welcome, not just mums. So bring along the babies, older siblings on bikes or foot.
‘Let’s all have a lovely time together while raising awareness of breastfeeding on the Island, as well as raising funds for our new Island LLL group.’
She said: ‘We are not going to do the walk as a sponsored event but instead we invite the walkers to make a donation, however big or small. Some walkers will carry buckets to which passers-by can make donations.
‘And after our exertions all walkers are invited to stay and socialise in the Prom Park and bring and share cakes, as a reward for our hard work.’
La Leche League was founded in 1956 by seven mothers and given a Spanish name because the word ‘breast’ was socially unacceptable then.
Today it is dedicated to providing education, information and ‘mother-to-mother’ support to women who want to breastfeed.
Research indicates breastmilk gives babies all the nutrients they need for the first six months of life and helps protect them from infection and diseases such as gastro-intestinal infections, ear infections, urine infections, eczema and obesity in later childhood.
And it is believed mothers benefit from breastfeeding too because it can reduce the risk of ovarian cancer, breast cancer and weak bones later in life.
For more information please contact Katie on 619836.

Filed under: Breastfeeding Tops; Tagged as: breast feeding, breastfeeding clothes, breastfeeding clothing, funky breastfeeding, mama's breastfeeding tops, summer nursing clothes2 CommentsWe thought it was about we spread the word a little about how fabulous our nursing tops are!!
Not that we are big headed, but we are just super passionate about them and wanted to get the word out to as many people as possible. This is one thing i can’t get use to, you’ve got to say how great your product is when someone asks, and i truly do thing our brand and our nursing clothes are fabulous but i am a modest person! I think it might have something to do with being British? I have alot of american friends and if they have something good they scream from the roof tops about it. Here in the UK i think we are abit more reserved. What do you think?
There are bigger things in the pipeline for Mama Feelsgood, can’t mention right now but they are all good
Everyone take care in this heat, i think the UK is going through a weather crisis at the moment!!!
